Aid for the Shade

It’s challenging to find shade plant components that tolerate the variability of shade to sun to shade. Ask a client if they have “sun” or “shade” and many might not be able to tell you, especially commercial property managers in cities and most homeowners. Why? Most aren’t there during the day to really see what’s happening! Most urban centers are in shade for much or most of the day. The buildings themselves create “canyons of variable shade.” What to do?!

Ball has a great selection of varieties that provide superior color and performance in shady areas.

Bounce Interspecific Impatiens

With great branching, low maintenance and fast flowering, Bounce offers proven performance in shade and stays in flower in high night temperatures. In addition to downy mildew resistance, Bounce has a ball-shaped habit that makes an excellent choice for landscapes, large containers, or street containers. This vegetative plant selection maintains the habit over the summer without falling over like traditional impatiens can do when planted too closely.
